EDIT: This class is now sold out, thanks so much for your interest!
Are you a beginner knitter or a more experienced one who hasn't knit a garment just yet? Would you love to learn how to make a handknit sweater of your own? I might have just the right thing for you!
A little while ago, I designed Vanilla Heirloom, a relaxing-to-make wardrobe staple that is destined to be a very first sweater. This pattern uses only a small set of techniques and it’s knit from the top down, which means there’s no seaming involved and you’ll be able to try it on as you go to determine your favourite length.
And I would love to help you make one of your own! In collaboration with Wollen Berlin, I'm teaching a "My first sweater" class, where we will learn how to knit a top-down raglan sweater following the Vanilla Heirloom pattern. We'll start with the basics – choosing the right size, working with a (English) written pattern, selecting yarn and other materials – and then take it step by step. Here's where you'll find all details (or scroll down), including a sign-up link, or simply send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org! By the way: the class will be taught in German, but if you don't speak German, I'll be able to help n English as well!
May 22, 6 pm - 8 pm, May 30, 6 pm - 9 pm, June 13, 6 pm - 9 pm & June 27, 6 pm - 9 pm. You will continue working on your sweater between sessions.
At Wollen Berlin, Gärtnerstr. 32, 10245 Berlin.
What do I need to bring?
You should be able to knit and purl. We'll select the yarn together at Wollen when we meet on May 22, and you won't need to bring knitting needles or any other tools for the first session. If you like to, you're welcome to bring a sweater that fits you well!
How much is the class?
125 € for all 4 sessions plus materials (yarn we'll choose together on May 22, and knitting needles and stitch markers, if needed).
Where can I sign up?
Here or via email: email@example.com.
