We’re all about consuming less and making the things we own last, and when we add something to our life, we wan to make sure that it’ll truly bring us joy! Reflecting on what new additions did just that over the past year is something we hope will help with making choices in the following year (and maybe you’ll find some of our recommendations helpful, too?), so we wanted to share our favourite beauty, fashion, home, making and miscellaneous additions from 2018. We’d also love to hear, what did you add to your life this past year that you’d buy, gift or make again and again in a heartbeat?Read More

Whether or not you celebrate a holiday during this time of year, December is certainly the busiest month of the year for our letter boxes. We, too, love sending out season’s greetings via snail mail, and this week, we’re teaming up with dieUmweltDruckerei, a company we’ve been using for a long time, to take a closer look at how we can make paper communication more sustainable. How can we be respectful of nature’s limited resources, what’s the deal with recycled paper, when does what way of communicating make sense, and what options are out there for us to choose from?Read More
At the end of last year, Malte and I upgraded our bedding sitiuation, and about 9 months later (and also after having comfortably survived the most recent heat wave), I thought I'd share a little update! As I mentioned here, we decided to go for wool beeding, which is said to have numerous health benefits, including a lower heart rate and less sleep disturbance. And while wool makes most people think of the colder months, thanks to its isolation and temperature regulating properties, it's actually great to sleep in all year round.Read More
You know these little shops in your neighbourhood or city where, with a bit of luck, you'll find the most unique and beautiful pieces? I absolutely love them, but am always a bit sad when friends ask about something I got there as they tend to offer one of a kind pieces or very limited quantities, making it hard to help people find exactly what they're looking for. We'll go there every time we visit family, and prompted by a follower question on Instagram, I just discovered that they also sell online. Way to go, Monday! With the holidays and ...Read More
A good night's sleep is crucial to our wellbeing – how we sleep impacts our everyday life in many ways, from our mood, emotions and memory to how our bodies react to stress, just to name a few (more details can be found here, for example). One of the various factors that influence sleep is the environment we sleep in, which is conveniently also relatively easy to tweak. Thinking about the importance of sleeping well and given how much time we spend asleep (ahem, or aim to spend asleep), bedding and bedroom textiles are very likely the home items we get the most use out of, and I'd venture to say also one of the key ones. Last month, I shared about our bedding upgrade in In Bed With Wool (Part One) (and I can't wait for it to arrive!), and we recently also treated ourselves to some new winter bed linen.Read More
If you're a knitter, chances are high that you know Ashley Yousling and her wonderful podcast, Woolful, who just announced a very exciting collaboration with Making. In every episode, she talks to guests from all over the making community, and I'd highly recommend giving it a listen, whether you consider yourself a maker or not. In her most recent podcast feature, Ashely chats with Sarah Sunshine from Shepherd's Dream, a company that produces sustainably, ethically made natural bedding ...Read More
